I am very disappointed how the Victorian Labor Party is blocking the reforms to democratise the Party.
I am afraid that this situation continuing will ensure the disintegration of the Labor Party.
Possibly we in the rank in file will have to create a New Australian Labor Party in order to make it an all Australian Labor Party.
Unions can no longer have a say in the running of the Party.

A 21st century Labor Party – our future depends on it

A 21st century Labor Party – our future depends on it

The ALP was always intended to be a member-based organisation and a member-driven political movement. We are at our best when we are open and connected and brave. This will require re-organising the party so that Labor values, ennobling policy goals and diversity of experience is embraced and opinions, and at times dissent, arising from a broad membership representative of the broader Australian community is welcome.
This new broad-based and open ALP culture will succeed if it is founded on genuinely democratic processes that work towards reaching consensus alongside a system of governance that ensures the rule of law rather than the law of the jungle applies.

Let's continue renewing our wonderful Labor Party

The participation of Rank-and-file in the selection of Leaders, candidates and policies espoused by the Labor Party are vital for the Democratisation and relevance of the Labor Party.
We can proudly build on the incredible achievements of this wonderful party throughout its history. A party that is the Party for all Australians.
A party whose foundation is built by its members.
